Brazil’s Rally dos Sertões is heading to the finish with two more stages to go, but two defining days to meet its champions. On T1 FIA Cars, it was a day of celebration for both NWM/X Rally Team duos. In today’s marathon stage, the Ford Rangers Dakar V8 4x4 finished first with Cristian Baumgart/Beco Andreotti and second with Marcos Baumgart/Kleber Cincea.

The competitors left Três Lagoas and reached Euclides da Cunha Paulista in a 587-km stretch, of which 290 kms counted for the stage. Marcos and Kleber are now second overall, 17min56s behind Reinaldo Varela/Gustavo Gugelmin. Cristian and Beco went up to third place on T1 FIA standings.

The #309 NWM-prepared Ford Ranger Dakar V8 4x4 finished the stage 1min30s ahead of the #303 Vedacit yellow-livered Ford Ranger, and 2min23s over Varela/Gugelmin’s Toyota. "Everything is fine with both of our cars, and even we are in a marathon stage, we didn’t worry at all. I could put my right foot down and Beco was perfect on the roadbook. We are confident to deliver more good results until the end", told Cristian.

"Another good day for both Ford Rangers and the team are happy to have made a 1-2 today. We are proving day after day that we have two amazing cars and even today being a marathon stage, we could push hard without worrying about it. The cars are in parc-fermè both in one piece. It’s a very reliable machine", said Marcos.

Tomorrow they part to Umuarama for a 199-km stage of 316-km total.
