Marcos Baumgart and Kleber Cincea will contest in the Desert Race 1000

After two third places in the previous rounds of the SACCS (South African Cross Country Series) with Marcos Baumgart and Cristian Baumgart, an X Rally Team pair is to compete again outside Brazil. Marcos and his co-driver Kleber Cincea will race in the Desert Race 1000 in Botsuana.
Marcos will drive the NWM-built Ford Ranger V8 4x4 from this Friday to Sunday in a further step to prepare and improve himself looking towards the Rally dos Sertões in Brazil, which goes from August 18th to 25th and the one X Rally Team won twice in the last two years.
“This race in Botswana is another part of the preparation we had scheduled until the Sertões. It is a tough race – even more than the ones we have in Brazil, including the Sertões – that will get us prepared as driver and co-driver, used to the rough paths along the way, and as well for us to test the latest developments on the Ford Ranger”, says Baumgart.
According to him, the experience of racing in Africa is highly valuable due to the similarities to Brazil. “It has been the best preparation for us, and, since we started doing it, last year, it has been working really well. Now it is a further step, in a race that is even tougher, and we excpect to get a good result”, he finishes.
