The penultimate day of competition in the Rally dos Sertões saw, once again, the domination of the NWM/X Rally Team Ford Rangers V8 4x4. Now, it came with a 1-2 by the Baumgart Brothers Cristian and Marcos. The #301 car won the 226-km stage and have risen its advantage in the overall lead to almost 12 minutes over Sylvio de Barros, fourth this Friday.

“Today was the day I enjoyed the most this Sertões. A complete special, with everything a cross country driver wishes for: speed, sand, some tricky sections, rocks and long jumps. It was a joy to drive today and I am really happy to confirm this with the stage win”, said Cristian, who is in chase for his third consecutive title alongside co-driver Beco Andreotti.

South-Africa’s Gareth Woolridge recovered well from Thrusday’s forfait and, with Marcelo Haseyama, was second in the T1 Brazil class. Gunter Hinkelmann put on na astonishing pace with the sister car #348 after getting stuck in an erosion for almost 30 minutes to be third.

This Saturday features the final day of the Rally dos Sertões. There will be 654 kilometers taking the competitors from Juazeiro do Norte do the beaches of Fortaleza in a 200-km stage to define the champions.
