Gareth Woolridge to face the last 654 kilometers in the Rally dos Sertões

Gareth Woolridge finished second the penultimate round of this year’s Rally dos Sertões. The special between São Raimundo Nonato and Juazeiro do Norte featured 226 kilometers of sand, rocks and long jumps. The perfect recipy for any cross country racer.

The 24-year old driver finished second in the T1 Brazil class, who is racing alongside Brazilian co-driver Marcelo Haseyama, set a time of 2h43min01s, 12 minutes behind overall leader Cristian Baumgart in the sister T1 FIA Ford Ranger V8.

“It was a very fun stage to drive. This region reminds me of Botswana, so I was a little more familiar with the style. With the instructions gave by Hasa, today we cruised to the finish with no issues whatsoever. I really enjoyed today, as I have enjoyed the whole competition”, Gareth highlighted.

Saturday is the final day of the 2018 Rally dos Sertões. The competitors will face 654 kilometers between Juazeiro do Norte to reach the beautiful beaches of Fortaleza, the capital of Ceará state. The stage will be 200-km long.
