The Desafio Inca, in Peru, will be the first stage of X Rally Team preparations for the 2019 Dakar. The Brazilian team, which recently won the Rally dos Sertões in the T1 FIA class for the third time in a row with the NWM-built Ford Rangers, will race in the Peruvian desert this September with South Racing-prepared CanAm UTVs.
The team will align two UTVs, for Cristian Baumgart/Beco Andreotti and Marcos Baumgart/Kleber Cincea. The main goal is to gather experience on the sandy paths of Peru.
“It is a great opportunity to know the place we will be at the Dakar 2019, as well as testing a new equipment for us”, says Cristian Baumgart. X Rally Team will start importing the UTVs with South Racing to sell or rent in South America.
According to Marcos Baumgart, the three days the duos will spend in Peru will gather valuable experience. “We have been training a lot this season, competing in the Brazilian and South African cross country championships in the car class. Our expectation is to prepare for the Dakar and to test the latest upgrades of the CanAm UTV”, he highlights.
The Desafio Inca presents competitors with 950 kilometers of competition split in three days, from September 13th to 16th.
