No time to rest as Campos Racing is ready for FIA Formula 2 Championship’s Round 2 at the Red Bull Ring this weekend. After making a positive start to the season, the Spanish outfit expects to put the pieces together to bring home a strong result with its two-car army of Dallara-built F2 cars driven by Guilherme Samaia and Jack Aitken. The championship predicts another weekend being packed full of motorsport action.

Brazilian Samaia completed a positive FIA F2 debut at the Red Bull Ring last weekend. Despite he couldn’t put together all the sectors in qualifying due to yellow and red flag, just like his teammate Aitken, the Brazilian driver made no mistakes in the races and gained extremely valuable experience at the wheel of the Formula 2 car.

“I’m just looking forward to getting back on track again. I want to put out there everything we learnt from the first weekend of racing. For sure, we are going to be stronger than we were a few days ago. I’m aiming at checking how well we can perform and develop this weekend”, Samaia says.

The Red Bull Ring features plenty of blind corners and unpredictable elements such as changeable weather and heavy traffic. It is importante to complete a strong qualifying session buta t the same time it is a circuit in which it isn’t that difficult to overtake other drivers. Most of the corners are right-hand corners and it is a clockwise circuit, but two of the most challenging corners are left-handers, so the Red Bull Ringi s all about compromisse.

The F2 round at the Red Bull Ring is composed by a 45-minute free practice and a half hour-qualifying session on Friday; on Saturday there is the Feature Race, which is one hour long; on Sunday, the lights go off for a 45-minute battle in the eigh-place reversed grid for the Sprint Race. Free practice and qualifying sessions take place on Friday at 12.55 and 17.00 respectively. Saturday’s feature race is scheduled at 16.45 with Sunday’s sprint race getting underway at 11.10. All times are CET.
